Shows and Travel!!

Hey Everybody!  I'm super excited to be traveling at the beginning of October!  First stop is a Singer/Songwriter Circle at The Brewhouse in Lake Park Florida. The Brewhouse has been a routine open mic venue when we visit family in Florida and I am thrilled to be a part of this event!  My travels will then take me to Chattanooga Tennesee for an interview/performance with Clark Gibson and his show Live in the Library which airs on Thursday 10/8/26 at 10pm on WUTC 88.1 .

This week, I had the honor and pleasure of playing at The White House Inn in Wilmington Vt.  They have a downstairs “speakeasy”!  Ian Campbell of Friends of Historic Memorial Hall organizes a monthly music showcase in this absolutely amazing space, and ITS A LISTENING ROOM!!!   These music environments are an endangered species these days!  As an acoustic musician who typically writes from the soul, my lyrics are stories; they depict details of complex lives and requires a listening ear.  Lots of music can connect with an audience through a background of great grooves;  while my guitar playing is of good caliber, I think its the lyrics that draw people in, which is why my music is perfect for listening rooms.  I was super stoked to connect with Ian and am grateful for the opportunity to play at the Speakeasy!  always on the hunt for listening rooms!!  And if you're looking for a fabulous, quaint getaway with lots of history, character, great food an accomodations, you should definitely book a stay at The White House Inn!

August 2026

August has been a bit of a roller coaster!  The highs and lows of this industry remain true to form.  Having to hit the pause button with my publisher, scraping pennies for a booking agent, excitement of booking shows, disappointment of cancelled shows, good pay days, bad pay days, replies of “no booking” because I can't draw a crowd…. yet…. and no, my clothing style does not include pajama pants!  As a working musician these are all experiences that are "the good, the bad and the ugly”; and while my awareness is there, it doesnt erase the necessity to lean on supports and coping strategies to see things through and keep on going.

Its important to spend time soaking in the highs… and my most recent was the honor of being interviewed with NBC!  It was a great experience and if you missed it, here's a link to the segment!

Getting Out There!

Working with my publicist, Eric Alper, has been such a great experience!

A review of the Album “Threads” along with an interview by Candadian Beats Magazine can be found at https://canadianbeats.ca/2026/07/28/john-gerard-shares-new-album-threads-interview/

The song “Good Days” from my new album "Threads" was aired by Stephen Ottner in his weekly edition of Folk Ace on Kennet Radio, a weekly radio show based in the UK.  Its track 10 of 14 and you can listen here: https://www.mixcloud.com/kennetradio/folk-ace-28th-july-2026/

Djfreddy B Heavy Hitter (Chicago, United States), and  DJ Dimitar Malamov (Sofia, Bulgaria) both reviewed the single “New England” and gave it a rating of 10/10!

Additionally, this summer's bookings at venues like Dark Horse Tavern and Agronomy Farm Vineyard has been amazing!   Looking forward to playing more new venues and venturing out beyond Massachusetts!

New Album!

My new album “Threads” is now available on my website www.johngerard.com !  Soon to be released on Spotify and Soudcloud.  This album is a culmination of songs with a theme of family and coming of age.  While my own upbringing was certainly incorporated, my time in the world of recovery exposed me to stories of those who have overcome the challenges of growing up and the healing power of family ties.  Have a listen and tell me what you think!!

New Album Release!!

Any day now I am releasing my new album “Threads”!  I am very excited to share this album!  I's more of a compilation…. It will include all 3 singles, some tracks from the other albums and a couple of new tracks.  It is a very personal album; with interweaves of my family upbringing, insights gained and lost moments.

“Discover the soundtrack of every family story. This album dives into the rich tapestry of love, tension and resilience that make up our family ties. With raw emotion and striking melodies, it’s a musical journey through the bonds that shape us. Let each track remind you that no family is simple—but every family is a story worth hearing.”

Business news update!

I am now working with a PR company out of Canada.

I am very excited about the prospect of this new endeavor and hope for a great outcome.

They will be shopping my music to magazines, newspapers, and radio stations across North America.

I am very excited to be expanding my audience and building my fan base!

Latest Podcast and New Orleans!

Hey Everybody!  Folk Alliance International in New Orleans was great!  I met alot of great people and made new connections!   Incidentally, the airport food in New Orleans is quite good; especially when stuck there for 14 hours watching flight cancellation after cancellation due to the recent snow storm!

Additionally, I had the pleasure of sitting with Dan Cloutier for his podcast The Dan Cloutier Community.  <= Click the link and have a listen to our conversation! I've had the pleasure of knowing Dan for over 20 years, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of his community.  He is an amazing musician and his latest album, “Iceburg” is fantastic!
